GPPL Event 3 - Note from the organisers

The GPPL E3 will be taking place on 28/29 July 2012 in Rustenburg. Yes, you read right, Rustenburg. There is an awesome range there called De-Range-d and they will be hosting the next event. Pictures have been posted on the GPPL Facebook page so you can see what it looks like.

There will be the Pro and Div1 divisions, as usual. There is a newcomer though, the "UP" division. What is that, who plays in that? That is easy, the name sort of gives it away. The "UP" division is for the up-and-coming teams that want to try out 5-man but are too worried about being blasted away in the Div1 division by the really good teams. The rules for this division are simple, everything is the same as with the other division, except no player who has played GPPL Pro in the last 3 years will be allowed in that division. Also, a maximum of 2 players who have played GPPL Div1 in the last 3 years will be allowed on the teams. This division will be competitive, make no mistake, but is exactly the right level for teams who play 5-man for the first time or haven't played 5-man at a competition before.

We are hoping to see new 5-man teams and 3-man teams from the various leagues combine to form 5-man teams to come and compete and at R 500 entry fee per team, why not?

Entry fees:
PRO and DIV1: R 1700
UP: R 500

The GPPL will start a thread on their GPPL Facebook Page for people to link up for lifts and other items.

Do you want to play but don't have a team OR have a team but missing a player or two? It is your lucky day. There will be a seperate thread on the GPPL Facebook Page where people can discuss teams and player recruitment for the event (for various divisions).

Oh, and there will be a player party on the Saturday night, so spread the word, get as many teams involved and signed up as possible and let's rock this event. Prizes may be announced at a later stage. There is a Blackberry GPPL group, send GPPL your BBM pin (to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) if you want to be invited to the group or ask someone you know to invite you.

See you there.
