PSP Chicago Open (Chicago Paintball Field, USA)

Message from PSP:

Each June the PSP is known for hosting one of the largest paintball tournaments in the world: The PSP Chicago Open.  This massive event, second only to the World Cup, draws in teams from each corner of the United States and beyond to face off in what is truly a National competition.  This year, the PSP has teamed up with a venue quite familiar with holding massive paintball events: CPX Sports Park (  The CPX Sports Park is located at 2903 Schweitzer Rd. in Joliet, Illinois outside of Chicago.  Players love this impressive year-round venue for its flat playing surface, electronic registration, complete Pro-Shop with all the latest gear, snack bar and theater for safety briefings.

Located in the heart of the Midwest and about an hour south of both Chicago O’Hare International Airport as well as the Chicago Midway International Airport, the CPX Sports Park is easily accessible for teams from all over the world.  Several hotels in the area are putting together special rates for players as are rental car agencies and group ground transportation.  All of this information and more will be posted up at and emailed out to our mailing list (would you like to receive our emails?  Sign up easily at the top of  You can also stay up to date with all the PSP Chicago Open details by joining our Facebook page:

SARPL (Bronkhorstspruit, South Africa)

This event will see it move away from its home base at Nova Paintball range in Pretoria to the Wolwe Bos paintball range in Bronkhorstspruit for the first time ever. This means it will be a new experience for the players in a new surrounding. It will be interesting to see how the team swill adjust to this.

It does involve some travelling and unfortunately the news is that some teams won’t make it to this event, which means they will have to play even harder in the other remaining tournaments.

The other exciting news is that the crazy game that has become a popular feature of this event will have a new official name. The players were able to submit suggestions for names and there were some funny ones amongst them. It was left up to a select panel to choose the best name and this name will be unveiled at the tournament on Sunday. The person who’s name was chosen will win a Planet Eclipse Distortion Top and T-shirt.
